New Island platform opens for train travel

In Lapara on May 13, 2018 at 1:41 pm

On the corner of Foxglove Parkway and Sagittata Drive, the train station has been officially moved early this morning.

Previously passengers had to wait at the bus stop, and walk out into the street and hop up on the trains, or jump off of the trains at the intersection. Sally the Snail has been complaining for years of the difficulty of crossing into the street to get on or off the streetcars.

Now, however, everyone will cross at the intersection, using the current crosswalk, and embark using a center island platform. All of the amenities are installed. This includes new lighting, newspaper boxes, seating, and a payphone.

While the original streetcar stops did not have platforms, the need arised due to the danger presented by automobiles. An issue in the post-Victorian era.
